BRUSSELS
The European Union has repeatedly pointed out that hostile remarks against Greece raise serious concerns, said the European Commission’s Lead Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs & Security Policy, Peter Stano, on Wednesday.
This also contravenes all needed efforts to de-escalate tension in the East Mediterranean, Stano added, who was responding to questions on Turkiye’s most recent statements over the use
of Tayfun missiles against Greece.
The European Commission official referred also to a statement issued on September 5 by European Union External Action, the EU’s diplomatic service, which had called on Turkey to „seriously work on de-escalating tensions in a sustainable way in the interest of regional stability in the eastern Mediterranean and fully respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all EU member states.”
